Machine Learning @ Edinburgh

Over the past couple of months, we’ve had a series of 17 short talks by various researchers within the School of Informatics and a few from Engineering, as part of a Research Program in Machine Learning. It was really fascinating to see the variety of views on this topic – involving applications ranging from biological behaviour modelling to compiler optimization and algorithms covering the entire range of the field. I gave one of these talks myself and I found that preparing a 15-minute talk for a broad audience was a really good exercise in clarifying one’s own agenda.
