Robots Rise

A few weeks back, we did a small event at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, entitled Robots Rise; an event that was part of the Cabaret of Dangerous Ideas series organized by the Beltane Public Engagement Network.

One of our guests, Dug Campbell, wrote a nice summary of the discussions on his weblog: http://www.dugcampbell.com/2013/robots-seeking-jobs-or-world-domination/.

  1. Thanks for sharing the post! It was a fascinating event and a really good introduction to just how many issues we all could face moving forwards in society as technology continues to advance. There’s clearly a big difference between public perception of the current state of progress and reality yet the potential remains astounding. Food for thought.

Blogging about the event also gave me a good opportunity to pull together some of my favourite robot videos of the past year. After your explanation, I suspect I won’t need to be buying my season ticket to follow my robot football team next year – but it can’t be too far off!
